Walmart is offering a $600 discount on an Asus ROG Strix G16 gaming laptop, bringing the price down to $1,399. This 16-inch device features an AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX processor and an Nvidia RTX 5060 graphics card with 8GB of VRAM. According to the article, this configuration is suitable for college students or professionals who need a machine capable of running most gaming titles at decent frame rates and good quality on its native 1920 x 1200 resolution display.

The laptop includes specific hardware details such as a 165Hz refresh rate and 3ms response time, along with Wi-Fi 6E for online gaming connectivity. While the review team previously praised a similar model with an RTX 5070Ti for its colorful and fast display, they noted that this version lacks the X3D cache found in the more powerful variant. Consequently, while gaming performance is slightly more limited due to the absence of this cache, it should still avoid bottlenecks when paired with the RTX 5060’s 8GB VRAM.

At under $1,400, the article suggests this laptop is ideal for casual on-the-go gaming and productivity workloads, particularly for students. It comes equipped with 16GB of DDR5 RAM and a 1TB Gen 4 SSD to handle multitasking and storage needs. For those seeking more power and willing to spend slightly more, an alternative option mentioned is an Intel Core i7-240H model with a 32GB RAM upgrade and RTX 5070Ti GPU, priced at $1,449.
