In a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supremecourt.gov\/orders\/courtorders\/081726zor_8m59.pdf\">list of orders<\/a> issued by the court, Verizon&#8217;s petition was denied without explanation.<\/p>\n<p>The denial apparently ends any possibility of Verizon asking a lower court to review the fine and order the FCC to issue a refund. However, AT&amp;T and T-Mobile are continuing to challenge similar fines on grounds that selling device-location data did not violate US telecom law.<\/p>\n<p>AT&amp;T, T-Mobile, and Verizon were <a href=\"https:\/\/arstechnica.com\/tech-policy\/2024\/04\/fcc-fines-big-three-carriers-196m-for-selling-users-real-time-location-data\/\">fined a total of $196 million<\/a> in 2024 for selling mobile users\u2019 real-time location data without their customers&#8217; consent.
